Tour Itinerary

Day 1, Vienna

Vienna, also described as Europe`s cultural capital, is a metropolis with unique charm, vibrancy and flair. It boasts outstanding infrastructure, is clean and safe, and has all the inspiration that you could wish for in order to discover this wonderful part of Europe. Very few cities in the world glide so effortlessly between the present and the past like Vienna. A city steeped with magnificent palaces and regal parks - a city that is to be savored and not rushed. Overnight at Vienna.

Day 2, Vienna

Today you spend the whole day at Prater. An amusement park for many and a place of nostalgic dreams for some, it is the oasis of greenery for almost everyone - and the location of the Giant Ferris Wheel, one of Vienna`s most famous symbols. About 250 attractions entertain you at the Vienna Prater, from casino automats to auto-drome rinks, ball toss and shooting booths, exciting roller coasters and ghost trains to flight simulators. Children especially enjoy merry-go-rounds, Punch and Judy Shows, the old Viennese grotto train and much more. This varied entertainment program is complemented by more than sixty cafes and restaurants, and ice cream and snack stands. Overnight at Vienna.

Day 3, Vienna

Today you are set for a half day tour Vienna woods & Mayerling tour. Explore beautiful sites surrounding the southern part of the Vienna Woods on this half day guided coach tour. You get to tour the fascinating Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, the oldest continuously occupied Cistercian monastery in the world, and take an awesome boat ride on the Seegrotte, the largest subterranean lake in Europe. You`ll pass the Roman City of Baden, famous for its thermal springs as you travel through the romantic valley Helenental to the former Mayerling hunting lodge. Soak up the mysterious atmosphere of the underground cave system, before heading back to Vienna. As a perfect addition to this tour, take a trip to see the new musical ``Rudolf - Affaire Mayerling,`` playing at Raimund Theatre. In the evening visit the Haus Der Musik. The Haus der Musik has a small first-floor exhibit on the Vienna Philharmonic, and upstairs you`ll enjoy fine audiovisual exhibits on each of the famous hometown boys (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss, and Mahler). It`s unique for its effective use of interactive touch-screen computers and headphones to literally put you in the musical driving seat. Pick up a virtual baton to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (each time you screw up, the orchestra stops and ridicules you). A computer will help you compose your own waltz by throwing dice. Really seeing the place takes time. It`s open late and makes a good evening activity. Overnight at Vienna.

Day 4, Hallstatt

Discover your individual Hallstatt holidays in the Dachstein-Salzkammergut-region. The combination of mountains, lakes, rivers and forests is what makes holidays in Hallstatt so special. Pure nature, fun, recreation and numerous sports possibilities. That`s what a holiday in Hallsattt promises. The stunning scenery of the Dachstein-Salzkammergut-region will inspire you to go hiking, mountaineering, cycling, mountain biking, Nordic walking, swimming and rock climbing. Do take the World`s oldest salt mine tour. Ride up to the mountain on the panorama funicular railway to trace the mysterious power of attraction of this mystical area. The path leads to the tunnel mouth and into a unique underground world: many kilometres of tunnels, which were started by hand by people more than 3,000 years ago, lead deep into the rock interior. The beams of light from the torches sweep over the naked, glistening rock face and briefly illuminate the places where hard-working miners once laboured so very long ago. Overnight at Hallstatt.

Day 5, Hallstatt

Get your adrenalin pumping in the morning by going Paragliding. The take off site is easy and ideal for your first tandem flight in the Hallstatt region. You will take the BGV cable car towards the peak of Krippenbrunn (1480m). The take off on the ski slope is only 2 min away, is located ca. 1000 m above the town Obertraun and it is well protected from strong winds. It`s easterly direction provides thermal winds from early on in the morning so we have ideal take off conditions most of the time. The pilot will inflate the wing and the adventure begins only a few steps away. The flight leads you next to the Schafeck and you have a great view towards the mountains Loser, Saarstein , and of course, lake Hallstatt . The landig zone is either on a a sportsfield near the cable car or on a meadow next to the lido of lake Hallstatt in Obertraun. In the evening get ready for a boat ride. A trip on the Hallstatt lake is definitely one of the nicest ways to discover the beauty of Lake. The tour with the ``Hallstatt`` begins in Hallstatt Lahn and continues via Obertraun - on the other side of the lake - past the romantic castle Grub and on to the centre of Hallstatt. The excursion boat ``Goisern`` goes along the eastern shores to Untersee and Steeg (Bad Goisern) on the northern tip of Lake Hallstatt. And whoever stands at the stern of one of the excursion boats and looks back at the foaming waves, can stop to think and get an idea of how man has won over the power of water. Overnight at Hallstatt.

Day 6, Salzburg

Framed by mountains, crowned by the Hohensalzburg Fortress and divided by the turquoise Salzach River, the Salzburg landscape is pure drama. Here you have the option to visit the world`s largest ice caves. One of the true wonders on earth, the caves are a wondrous underground world of natural ice sculptures and formations. Discover a world of natural beauty. It was discovered in 1879 is a dynamic cave, meaning that the corridors and the crevices connect lower lying entrances to higher openings, hence making it possible for draughts of air to circulate - similar to the effect in a chimney. Or you can visit the Hohenwerfen fortress. The historic falconry Center and the (seasonal) falcons show add a very special air to the imposing complex which is often used as a movie location. The mighty castle of Hohenwerfen has towered over the 155 metre high craggy rock pillar above the Salzachtal valley for more than 900 years. A tour of the castle includes a walk around the castle chapel, the pitch kitchen, the armoury and arsenal featuring an exhibition of the weapons over the ages, the battlements, the bell tower and the adapted rooms of the regents. The illuminated exhibition on the history of building progress and the new, interactive exhibition - `To arms! Power, Honour, Submission` - give visitor fascinating insights into medieval life. Overnight at Salzburg.

Day 7, Salzburg

Visit the Mirabell Palace considered to be the most beautiful wedding hall in the world; Leopoldskron Palace and lake - a 400 years old palace and birthplace of famous Salzburg music festival; Hellbrunn Castle - a testament to living Testament of the power, wealth, passion and love for life of Archbishop - Marcus Sittkus.
